PORTFOLIO

…..a woman of uncharacteristic beauty trails from the group during a tour of an ancient castle…..she stumbles upon attic rooms full of aged costumes and ornaments……. tarnished, heavy with lore the heirlooms await discovery…..

frayed linens, faded brocades, quilted undergarments, soft cotton tulle, silk muslin in the subtlest of tones, un-dyed furs, chandelier crystals, rusted metal threads, natural pearls, embossed kid-hides, pastels of deep burgundy, ivory, olive greens, sea-foam blue turquoise…the essence of a vanished, feminine era.

Sewing techniques involve embroidery with ribbon and metallic threads. Appliqué techniques include ruched, shirred and gathered metallic silks, cording, fringes and ribbon florettes with metal bandings, tarnished sequins, seed and bugle beads in historical colors of coral , jade and natural color displays.

We aim to emulate history; recreate material and color combinations and techniques
in use years gone by, starting as early as the 15th century up to the 19th.
